Make Sure You Read the GreenPrint
Printing directly from the web can be a headache. When all you need is information that could easily fit on one or two pages, you often wind up with wasted paper printed with nothing other than URLs, website logos, or advertisements.
Luckily, one company is now providing a solution to this familiar annoyance: GreenPrint is a downloadable software that allows you to preview and remove unwanted pages from your printing selection. It also lets you keep track of how much money and how many pages you have saved over time.
The software is available to businesses for only $35. Profit, however, is not the motive for Hayden Hamilton, creator of GreenPrint, who is now releasing the resource for free to home users.
In a quote from the company’s website, he says, “With widespread use we will save over 100 million trees and reduce greenhouse gases by over 300 million tons.” His goal is to reduce environmental waste and contribute to a more eco-friendly society.
The GreenPrint website estimates that “if all new computers sold in 2006 used green print, over 36 million trees would be saved every year.”
What are you waiting for? Go (print) green!
